“I Knew I Would Win”: Reséndiz Reflects on Victory Over Plant

WBA interim super middleweight champion José Armando Reséndiz (16-2, 11 KOs) spoke about his victory over Caleb Plant (23-3, 14 KOs) of the United States.

“I knew everyone would be against me, because on paper, of course, he was the favorite. But I believed in myself. My corner believed in me, and we came here to do what we did.

I don’t care much about what others say. I knew I would win. I wasn’t nervous at all. I understood it would be a tough fight, and we gave the people a great show… I’m ready to fight anyone,” Reséndiz said.

To recap, on the night of June 1, José Armando Reséndiz defeated Caleb Plant by split decision. Judges’ scores: 116–112 (Reséndiz), 115–113 (Plant), 116–112 (Reséndiz).
