Oscar Duarte Defeats Kenneth Sims in Chicago

On 2 August in Chicago, USA, light-welterweights Oscar Duarte (30-2-1, 23 KOs), 29, of Mexico, and hometown fighter Kenneth Sims Jr. (22-3-1, 32 yrs) waged a scheduled 12-round clash.

The bout ended with Duarte claiming victory by majority decision: 114-114 and 116-112, 115-113 for the Mexican.

Back in 2023 Duarte was stopped inside the distance by Ryan Garcia. Since that setback he had strung together three straight wins, two of them knockouts. Chicago’s own Sims, meanwhile, hadn’t tasted defeat since 2018, piling up nine consecutive victories—four inside the limit—including unbeaten prospects Kishawn Williams and Elvis Rodriguez.
