Promoter Don King has announced that his client, American heavyweight Michael Hunter, will not face Jarrell Miller.
On August 10, The Ring reported that Miller and Hunter would meet on September 11 in Las Vegas, USA, headlining an event during the fight week for the undisputed Super Middleweight title clash between Saul Alvarez and Terence Crawford.
According to reports, Don King sent an official cease-and-desist letter to Sela and TKO—the latter led by UFC president Dana White—after the organizations announced the bout.
King insists that Hunter is still under contract with Don King Productions and will instead face Kubrat Pulev, the WBA Regular champion.
“Hunter has a contract with Don King Productions, and he will be fighting for a world title,” said King.
This marks what could be a third consecutive canceled fight for Miller. The American was initially set to face WBA Interim champion Fabio Wardley on June 7 but withdrew. A planned bout with prospect Jared Anderson also fell through.
