Alexander Krassyuk, former promoter of undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, admitted that he had serious concerns before the Ukrainian’s fight with Daniel Dubois. However, everything changed the moment he saw Usyk’s eyes before the ring walk.
“We spoke after the fight. I told Usyk, ‘We should’ve ended our partnership earlier. The moment I stepped away, you scored the fastest and most brutal knockout of your career!’
It was a strange feeling, watching his fight in a sports bar surrounded by fans—but I genuinely enjoyed the performance.
I have to admit, I didn’t make any public predictions because I had a really bad feeling about the outcome. But the moment I saw his eyes on the screen before the ring walk, all my doubts disappeared. That was kill mode,” Krassyuk said.
On 19 July, Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) knocked out Daniel Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) in the fifth round, becoming undisputed world champion for the third time.
