Karen Chukhadzhian Defeats Ayala by Decision

On May 10, at Stadthalle Arena in Rostock, Germany, Ukrainian welterweight Karen Chukhadzhian (25–3, 13 KOs) faced Argentina’s Cristian Javier Ayala (13–3–1, 4 KOs) in a 10-round bout for the WBO International title (limit: 66.7 kg).

The fight went the full distance, with Chukhadzhian winning by unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards.

This victory marks Chukhadzhian’s return to the win column after losing a unanimous decision to IBF world champion Jaron Ennis in November.

Ayala last fought in August, scoring a unanimous decision win over Guido Romero.
