Hearn Calls Ennis–Lima Fight “Excellent” and Explains Why

Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn explained why the upcoming bout between Jaron Ennis and Uisma Lima is worth watching.

"This is an excellent fight. We’ve got a guy who’s in the top 10 of three organizations. In his last three bouts, he’s beaten three undefeated opponents on their own turf.

We could have picked someone who wasn’t even going to try to win. We made offers to eight fighters. Everyone says they want this fight, but they raise their financial demands because they know how good ‘Boots’ is.

I wanted his opponent to be someone who is a true natural in this weight class, not a 147-pounder moving up. And someone who’s coming to win. And that’s Lima. He’s a good fighter. This won’t be an easy fight," Hearn told The Stomping Grounds.

The bout will take place on October 11 in Philadelphia. Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) and Lima (14-1, 10 KOs) will fight for the WBA mandatory challenger position in the Super Welterweight division, currently held by Terence Crawford.
