Head of Matchroom Boxing Eddie Hearn has weighed Jake Paul’s (12-1, 7 KO) chances against former two-time unified Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KO). Earlier, Paul said the bout could take place in 2026.
“He’s calling out Anthony Joshua—a monster at Heavyweight. I think Jake Paul is crazy enough to fight AJ, because the money would be unbelievable.
The class gap is catastrophic, but people would watch because it could spell the end for Jake Paul. It’s very dangerous.
Honestly, I don’t think the fight should happen. They’re clever about who they pick. It wouldn’t be weird if Jake wanted Joshua.
But would Anthony step in and give Jake a good beating for huge money? Probably, yes. I’d say: ‘Go on, I’d like to see it.’
Is Jake world-class? Absolutely not, but he’s improving—better than a lot of other fighters. So, in a way—good luck to him. Can’t believe I’m saying that, but good luck,” Hearn told.
After beating Julio César Chávez Jr., Paul entered the WBA top-15 rankings.
