Gvozdyk Could Have Faced 29-Year-Old American — Why It Didn’t Happen

Former WBC Light Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk revealed that he was close to securing a fight with 29-year-old American Khalil Coe.

"My manager told me about the possibility of a fight with Coe a week ago. Of course, I agreed, but yesterday he called me and said that Coe’s team decided to go with Jesse Hart instead.

It’s a big test for Coe, and I’m not sure he’ll pass it. Although it should be a good fight," Gvozdyk said.

Coe (10-1-1, 8 KOs) has fought once in 2025, knocking out Mexican Manuel Gallegos. Gvozdyk (21-2, 17 KOs) also fought once this year, making his Cruiserweight debut with a third-round KO over Anthony Holloway.
