Expert Names the One Boxer Who Could Beat Sebastian Fundora

Former world champion and boxing analyst Chris Algieri believes there's one man who could dethrone Sebastian Fundora, the current WBC Super Welterweight Champion — and even become the top dog at 154.

“I think Vergil Ortiz could be the best in this weight class,” said Algieri. “I believe he can beat Fundora.”

Ortiz (23-0, 21 KOs) is currently one of the division’s top contenders and holds the WBC interim title, positioning him as Fundora’s likely future opponent. However, most current speculation revolves around a planned fall 2025 showdown between Ortiz and Keith Thurman.

Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) is coming off a dominant performance in a rematch, stopping Tim Tszyu and solidifying his claim to the throne at 154.
