Eduardo Núñez to Make First Title Defense on 6 September

Promoter Matchroom Boxing has officially announced a Super Featherweight (limit 59 kg) clash between Mexico’s IBF world champion Eduardo Núñez (28-1, 27 KOs) and American challenger Christopher Díaz (30-5, 19 KOs).

The showdown is set for 6 September in Núñez’s native Los Mochis, Mexico, with global streaming on DAZN.

Núñez captured the title on 28 May, outpointing Masanori Rikiishi by unanimous decision.

In April, Díaz earned a unanimous-decision victory over José Antonio Mesa, positioning himself for this shot at world gold.
