Heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte had a warning for any future opponents who think they can rattle him — and he borrowed a line from Oleksandr Usyk to make his point.
– Do you think you can get inside Moses Itauma’s head before the fight—maybe play some of the old Dillian Whyte mind games, scare him a bit at the press conference?
– I’m not out here trying to intimidate anyone. I just handle my business. If someone tries that with me, that’s a different story — but I don’t play psychological games. I’m not here to bully anyone.
You’ll never see me mock a guy or talk nonsense first. I’m calm — until somebody starts talking stupid.
I’ve got no problem with anyone, bro. Listen, I’m good. I’m very calm — but very explosive. It doesn’t take much to set me off. I know that, so I keep myself in check.
But if somebody wants trouble — like Usyk says, ‘Don’t push the horses.’ You might just meet Ivan, said Whyte.
Whyte’s next fight is set for 16 August in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he’ll face unbeaten prospect Moses Itauma (20-0, 10 KOs).
