On the night of 2 August at El Poliedro, Caracas (Venezuela), Thai titlist Panya Pradabsri (44-3, 27 KOs) made the wrong kind of history in his WBC minimum-weight defence, falling to hometown challenger Carlos Canizales (28-3-1, 20 KOs) in a fiery rematch.
The bout ended early: Canizales tasted the canvas in round 4, yet stormed out for the fifth with venom, trapping Pradabsri in a corner and detonating a barrage that left the Thai champion flat on the deck — KO 5.
Their first encounter, on 26 December 2024, had seen Pradabsri edge the Venezuelan by majority decision. This time the script flipped — emphatically.
