Australian super-lightweight contender Liam Paro (26-1, 16 KOs) says he’s keen to face eight-division legend Manny Pacquiao.
“Ten years in this sport — it’s time to move up. I’ve conquered the super-lightweight world since I was 18.
I’m 29 now, and making the limit keeps getting harder, so we’ve decided to jump to welterweight and chase a belt there. I’ve said it before: being a two-time champ sounds great, but being a champion in two divisions sounds even better — and that’s my aim.
The legend, my favourite fighter Manny Pacquiao, is coming back to boxing — at welterweight. Folks, give me that fight. Bring him to Australia. I’m sure he wants a rematch at Suncorp Stadium. I’m ready to offer the bout. It would be electric,” Paro said.
Pacquiao has fought at Suncorp Stadium once before, dropping a controversial decision to Jeff Horn — a verdict many experts and fans felt should have gone the Filipino’s way.
