Rudy Hernandez, trainer of WBC bantamweight champion Zunto Nakatani, has expressed interest in a future showdown with Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez, and he’s confident it wouldn’t go the distance.
“I hope we fight Jesse Rodriguez. If you were in his shoes, would you call out Nakatani? Zunto will beat him 100 percent within six to eight rounds. We’ll knock him out.
I’m confident — that’s my opinion. It’s not personal. It’s business.
Zunto is 27 now, he’s a fully developed fighter. He understands everything. He’s accurate. He knows when and where to punch. He’s got good reflexes and instincts,” said Hernandez.
Nakatani is set to return on June 8 in a unification bout against Ryosuke Nishida, while Jesse Rodriguez will face Phumelela Cafu on June 19.
