Wladimir Klitschko Denies Running for World Boxing President

Former unified world champion and one of the longest-reigning heavyweight titleholders Wladimir Klitschko has denied reports that he is running for the presidency of the amateur boxing organization World Boxing.

"After exchanging information with World Boxing, I am not a candidate for the position of WB president — at least for now," Klitschko wrote.

Earlier, media outlets listed Gennadiy Golovkin, Wladimir Klitschko, and Haris Mariolis (President of the Hellenic Boxing Federation) as potential candidates for the role, but this had not been officially confirmed.

The elections are scheduled for November 2025.
