Shelly Finkel, manager of former Heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder, responded to the desire of WBA, WBC, IBF and IBO Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk to fight the American. According to Finkel, Deontay is ready to consider a bout with Usyk.
“Usyk is a great champion. We have plans for next year, and we’d like Oleksandr Usyk to be part of them. If we get the right offer, we’ll be open to that fight,” said Finkel.
Earlier, Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) named a fight with Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) as his No. 1 goal for 2026.
Wilder last fought in June against Tyrrell Herndon and won by seventh-round TKO.
In July, Usyk knocked out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round and became a three-time undisputed world champion.
