Wilder Eyes Title Run – Coach Names Potential Opponents

Malik Scott, trainer of former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs), believes his fighter remains fully motivated despite his veteran status and financial security.

Scott emphasized that a fight between Wilder and Anthony Joshua remains one of the most anticipated matchups in the division — and that these are the types of bouts that reignite fan interest.

“He still has the desire to become champion, because deep down, he still is one.

This is the second half of his career — he’s insanely wealthy, but he wants to fight for the heavyweight title again.”

“Wilder vs Joshua is one of those obvious fights most fans — myself included — want to see.

There’s also Joshua vs Fury, or Wilder vs Fury — all those fights are exciting for the public.

The only thing that frustrates fans is the business side of things that often gets in the way.

Let’s see if the business can help bring these great fights to life.”

“I believe that even though Deontay is in the later stage of his career, his name still holds weight.

All he needs to do is get back in the ring and knock people out. And then the public will go wild again.”

Wilder is set to face Tyrrell Herndon on June 27 in the United States.
