The World Boxing Council (WBC) officially reported that the order for the fight between Hamzah Sheeraz and interim Super Middleweight champion Christian Mbilli has been cancelled.
This was reported by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman:
“The WBC hereby cancels the order for the Mbilli — Sheeraz fight. Consequently, the purse bids scheduled for Wednesday are cancelled,” stated Sulaiman.
It is reported that the reason for the cancellation is that the teams did not reach any progress in negotiations.
Previously it was reported that Sheeraz (22-0-1, 18 KOs) plans to meet with Diego Pacheco in a fight for the WBO belt in the same division. Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) could subsequently receive another opponent.
