Tsutsumi Quickly Knocks Out Martinez on Canelo–Crawford Undercard

On September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the prelims of the Saul Alvarez vs Terence Crawford card featured 23-year-old Japanese fighter Reito Tsutsumi (3-0, 2 KOs) against 29-year-old American Javier Martinez (7-3, 4 KOs).

The fight ended in the very first round. Tsutsumi dropped his opponent, and even after the referee’s count, Martinez was unable to continue.

For the Japanese prospect, it was his second consecutive knockout. For Martinez, it marked his third straight defeat.
