Former world champion Tony Bellew has shared his thoughts on the upcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs).
“Daniel Dubois is a 27-year-old veteran. He’s been through a lot and endured plenty, but it’ll be interesting to see whether any of that changes the outcome against Oleksandr Usyk.
It’s a dangerous fight, but I think he’ll lose it. Oleksandr Usyk will take him right back to the place he took him last time. He pushed him to the point of quitting.
I’m not calling Daniel a quitter, but he has done it before – and that can’t be ignored. Once you quit the first time, it’s the hardest, and then it can keep happening.
Right now, he’s riding high. That win over AJ boosted his confidence to new heights, but it’ll take five or six rounds to knock it out of him. That’s what I believe will happen,” said Bellew.
The rematch is scheduled for July 19 in London.
