WBO super lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez has revealed that he plans to move up in weight — and had a warning for the division he’s coming after.
“Watch out — Teofimo is coming to conquer the welterweight division. They (Haney and Ryan) are moving up to welterweight, and for now, I’m staying at 140. So they’ll get a bit of a head start — but I’m coming to take over,” Lopez said.
Teofimo is scheduled to return to the ring on May 2, when he will face Arnold Barboza, the mandatory challenger for his WBO title.
