Stephen Fulton on fight vs Foster: “I apologize for my performance”

31-year-old former world champion Stephen Fulton reflected on his fight against WBC super featherweight titleholder O'Shaquie Foster. The 31-year-old American gave credit to his opponent, but noted that he was far from his best, which led to the loss.

“I need to refocus. This is my fault. That wasn’t even close to the best version of me — not at all. I apologize for my performance to the fans and supporters. I’ll be back and I’ll be better,” Fulton wrote.

Recall that the bout between Stephen Fulton (23-2, 8 KOs) and O'Shaquie Foster (24-3, 12 KOs) was originally set to take place for the WBC super featherweight title held by Foster, but Fulton missed weight on the eve of the fight.

After that, the WBC announced the fight would be contested at lightweight for the organization’s interim title. In the end, Foster won by unanimous decision, and the WBC stripped Stephen of his world title at featherweight.
