“Old Turtle Wants $500K” – Shannon Briggs Mocks Ibeabuchi’s Demands

Former heavyweight world champion Shannon Briggs ridiculed the demands of 52-year-old Nigerian Ike Ibeabuchi, who is asking for $500,000 for a potential fight between them.

“Ike Ibeabuchi — that old turtle — wants $500,000 for me to grind him up in a blender. He knows the show would be entertaining, that’s why he’s asking for so much.

Briggs (60-6-1, 53 KOs), now 53, last fought on May 21, 2016, scoring a first-round knockout over Emilio Zarate. He had planned to return in August but was sidelined by injury.

In August, Ibeabuchi (21-0, 16 KOs) made his first official appearance since March 1999, when he forced Idriss Affini to retire after the third round. Following that fight, Ibeabuchi called out Oleksandr Usyk, the reigning undisputed heavyweight champion.
