"I Love WBC!": Ryan Garcia Makes Bizarre Declaration of Love at Press Conference for Barrios Fight

American boxer Ryan Garcia, during the press conference dedicated to his title fight against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios, publicly confessed his love for the World Boxing Council (WBC).

“And last but not least: I have to thank the WBC. Yes, the WBC.

Listen, I can’t thank you enough. WBC. I love the WBC. You have no idea how much I love the WBC. I love the WBC. I love WC. There they are. WBC, whatever. WBC. Yes,” Garcia stated.

Previously, Ryan Garcia was suspended due to doping substances found in his system following his fight against Devin Haney. Although Ryan initially won that bout, the result was later annulled and ruled a No Contest.

Subsequently, the WBC announced that Ryan was no longer suspended. The organization then sanctioned the title fight against Mario Barrios, despite the controversy surrounding his previous performance.

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman reacted to the boxer's statement:

“Unbelievable… Never seen this before. Thank you, champ. It’s been a roller coaster. We are proud. Feb 21,” Sulaiman wrote.

The Barrios vs. Garcia fight is scheduled to take place on February 21.
