46-Year-Old Ricky Hatton Returns to the Ring

Former world champion Ricky Hatton (45-3, 32 KOs) has decided to restart his career after a 13-year layoff, BoxingScene reports.

On 2 December in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the 46-year-old Briton will square off against local former boxer––now promoter––Eisa Al Dah (8-3, 4 KOs).

Hatton’s last official bout came in 2012, when he was stopped in the ninth round by Vyacheslav Senchenko. Before that, he had spent more than three years out of the ring following a second-round knockout at the hands of Manny Pacquiao. In 2022 Hatton boxed an exhibition with Marco Antonio Barrera that went the full eight scheduled rounds.

Al Dah, also 46, hasn’t fought since 2021, when he dropped a first-round TKO to Pedro Delgado. Eisa Al Dah holds the distinction of being the UAE’s first professional boxer.
