Parker Asked Usyk for a Final Fight — Here’s What Oleksandr Said

Interim WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs) revealed a recent exchange he had with undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) regarding a potential showdown in the future.

I went up to him and said, ‘You’ve got two fights left. Next is Dubois, and your last one should be with me.’ And he replied, ‘No, no, no.’”

Parker believes Usyk is chasing big-money fights, and sees Daniel Dubois and a possible rematch with Anthony Joshua or a long-awaited clash with Tyson Fury as higher priorities.

He told me, ‘Do your thing, don’t worry — after I retire, you’ll get your shot,’ or something like that.

I’d love to fight him. I truly believe he’s the best fighter — the best heavyweight — of our generation,” said Parker.
