Former heavyweight world champion Joseph Parker has shared his thoughts on the referee’s decision to halt his fight against Fabio Wardley.
“At the end of the fight, I thought I was fine. But I’m not the referee — it’s not my call. I think I was holding up well, but I got caught — that happens in boxing. Of course, I wanted to continue.
I’m okay. Congratulations to Fabio Wardley — he’s a true warrior, a tough guy. Hopefully, we can run it back,” Parker said.
To recap, on October 25, Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) stopped Joseph Parker (36-4, 24 KOs) via 11th-round TKO after a prolonged offensive flurry led the referee to step in and wave off the contest.
