Parker and Allen Could Clash in Queensberry–Matchroom 5-on-5 Tournament

Founder and head of Queensberry Promotions Frank Warren has named a potential foe for interim WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs).

Warren believes the New Zealander could face Britain’s David Allen (24-7-2, 19 KOs) as part of the upcoming 5-on-5 mini-tournament between Queensberry and Matchroom Boxing.

“David Allen is a perfectly good opponent for Parker. It’s a solid fight—and, I think, an especially good one for Joseph.

David always comes forward, doesn’t he? He’s just revived his career with that win over Fisher—and the way he did it. So we’ll see. A year ago we wouldn’t even have considered it, but now it might work.

We need to sit down with DAZN and discuss what’s next. Maybe this bout can be slotted into the 5-vs-5 format,” Warren said.

In February, Parker stopped Martin Bakole by second-round TKO. He had originally been slated to meet Daniel Dubois, but the Briton withdrew due to illness.

On 17 May, David Allen reignited his own run by halting Johnny Fisher in the fifth round of their rematch.
