Three-time undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk attended the 50th Toronto International Film Festival.
The Ukrainian boxer was present for the screening of The Smashing Machine, a film based on real events that portrays the life and career of American MMA fighter Mark Kerr (the movie title comes from his nickname during his career). In the film, Usyk plays the role of legendary mixed martial artist Igor Vovchanchyn, who was one of Kerr’s biggest rivals. The lead role of Kerr is played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The movie is set to premiere on October 3. It was first shown at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received a 15-minute standing ovation.
