“Night of the Champions” Set for 22 November

The Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Turki Alalshikh, has announced the “Night of the Champions” boxing event, which will take place on 22 November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The main event of the evening will be a bout between WBC Light-Heavyweight (up to 79.4 kg) champion David Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs) and Anthony Yarde (27-3, 24 KOs).

The tournament will also feature the following match-ups:

– Brian Norman (28-0, 22 KOs) vs Devin Haney (32-0, 15 KOs),

fight for the WBO Welterweight title (up to 66.7 kg);

– Abdullah Mason (19-0, 17 KOs) vs Sam Noakes (17-0, 15 KOs),

contest for the vacant WBO Lightweight title (up to 61.2 kg);

– Jesse Rodríguez* (21-0, 14 KOs) vs Fernando Martínez (18-0, 9 KOs),

bout in the Super-Flyweight division (up to 52.2 kg).

* — the fight will proceed on the condition that Rodríguez defeats current WBO champion Phumelele Cafu (11-0-3, 8 KOs) on 19 July. If Rodríguez wins, the WBA, WBC, and WBO titles at Super-Flyweight will be on the line.

The event will be streamed on DAZN. The first press conference is set for Friday, 11 July.
