Murat Gassiev is the New WBA Regular Champion

The fight for the WBA Regular Heavyweight belt between Kubrat Pulev and Murat Gassiev took place on December 12 in Dubai. The confrontation ended with a knockout delivered by Gassiev in the 5th round.

For Pulev, this fight was the first defense of the belt he won a year ago in a bout against Mahmoud Charr. Gassiev was ranked 12th in the WBA rankings at the time of the fight.

Prior to the fight, Pulev stated that they did not have doping control.
