Former WBC heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) has fired a scathing response to Jarrell Miller (26-1-2, 22 KOs), after "Big Baby" recently claimed he'd love nothing more than to “crush” Wilder in the ring.
With both men scheduled to return this June — Miller facing Fabio Wardley (18-0-1, 17 KOs) on June 7, and Wilder taking on Tyrrell Herndon (24-5, 15 KOs) on June 27 — a high-voltage clash between the two American heavyweights could be on the cards later this year, provided they both win.
Wilder didn’t hold back in his interview with TMZ Sports:
“The only thing he crushes is burgers — and he doesn’t even do that well. All he does is talk, talk, talk. But if the fight really happens? I’m all in.
I hope he’s already paid for his funeral. I’m not joking. If I saw him today, I’d punch him in the face. Deontay Wilder is back. People better start respecting that name.”
Wilder last fought in June 2024, when he suffered a fifth-round TKO loss to Zhilei Zhang — his fourth defeat in five bouts.
As for Jarrell Miller, he hasn't managed two wins in a row for some time. In December 2023, he was knocked out in the 10th round by Daniel Dubois, and in June 2024, he fought Andy Ruiz to a draw.
