Tom Loeffler Names Potential Opponents for Bohachuk

Tom Loeffler, promoter of Ukrainian Super Welterweight contender Serhii Bohachuk (26-2, 24 KOs), has listed several possible names for his fighter’s next bout.

As reported by The Ring, Turki Alalshikh is seeking action-oriented fighters for upcoming shows, and Loeffler hopes Bohachuk will appear on the Canelo vs. Crawford undercard scheduled for September 13 in Las Vegas, USA.

If Sebastian Fundora and Tim Tszyu are unavailable to fight around that date, Loeffler sees another route: a title clash with IBF champion Bakhram Murtazaliev.

He’s officially the mandatory challenger by the WBC, but the title fight hasn’t been scheduled yet. It’s still an uncertain situation right now. We’ll see what happens after the Fundora–Tszyu fight.

We want to give Bohachuk a big fight in the fall. Fundora, Tszyu, Ortiz, or Bakhram (Murtazaliev) — those are great names and opponents for Serhii. He doesn’t care who he fights because he believes he’s the best in the division. He needs fights like these to prove it. There are plenty of top-tier options for him at super welterweight,” Loeffler said.

Earlier, it was reported that the WBC plans to sanction a rematch between Bohachuk and interim champion Vergil Ortiz Jr.
