Serhii Lapin explains whether Joshua will spar Usyk before Jake Paul fight

Serhii Lapin, director of the team of unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (WBA, WBC, IBF, IBO), told Ready to Fight in an exclusive interview whether the Ukrainian will spar with former world champion Anthony Joshua as part of his preparation for Jake Paul.

“He (Usyk — ed.) came over, they worked together, but there were no sparring sessions — Jake Paul isn’t a southpaw, so there was no point in that. He shared his experience during the preparation process,” Lapin said.

Earlier, Serhii Lapin explained why Joshua turned specifically to the Ukrainian team, how the cooperation is structured, and whether Usyk will appear in his corner.

The fight between Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) and Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) will take place on December 19 in Miami, USA. The event will be broadcast by streaming service Netflix.
