Lamont Roach and Isaac Cruz Fight to a Draw

On December 6 in San Antonio, USA, a 12-round fight for the WBC interim Junior Welterweight title took place between 27-year-old Mexican Isaac Cruz (28-3-2, 18 KOs) and 30-year-old American Lamont Roach (25-1-3, 10 KOs).

The bout ended in a draw. The scores were 115–111 for Cruz and 113–113 twice, with the official verdict a split draw. In the third round, Roach was dropped for the first time in his professional career after a left hook from his opponent.

For Roach, it was his debut at Junior Welterweight. In his previous fight, he also fought to a draw against Gervonta Davis at Lightweight. Cruz had won his last two fights by decision. He hadn’t gone the full 12-round distance since the summer of 2024.
