Keyshawn Davis Plans Move to Welterweight and a Fight Outside the USA

Keyshawn Davis / Mikey Williams, Top Rank

Former WBO Lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis has shared his plans for a return to the ring.

“For February 2026, we have something planned, that's for sure. It will be a fight outside the country.

In fact, I am considering moving to a different weight class. I'm thinking about 147 pounds [welterweight],” Keyshawn said.

Davis (13-0, 9 KOs) last fought in February 2025, when he secured a dominant stoppage victory over Denys Berinchyk at Madison Square Garden to become the world champion. Subsequently, Keyshawn took a break from competing and recently announced the end of his partnership with trainer Brian "BoMac" McIntyre. His planned June 2024 defense against Edwin De Los Santos was canceled after Davis failed to make weight, leading to him being stripped of his title.
