Josh Padley Confidently Stops Belmehdi and Claims European Title

On January 31 at the Newcastle Arena in Newcastle, Great Britain, a bout took place between Briton Josh Padley (18-1, 6 KOs) and Frenchman Jaouad Belmehdi (23-3-3, 11 KOs) for the vacant EBU European Super Featherweight title (up to 59 kg).

The confrontation ended in a stoppage victory for Padley — in the second round, Josh sent his opponent into a knockdown; the Frenchman rose, however, in the same round, the referee intervened and stopped the match following a series of attacks from the Briton. TKO 2.

For Josh Padley, this is his third consecutive victory since the only defeat of his career, which he suffered in February 2025 at the hands of Shakur Stevenson. For Belmehdi, this is his second consecutive loss.
