Warren Reveals When Joseph Parker Will Return to the Ring

Founder and head of Queensberry Promotions, Frank Warren, has shared the next steps for his fighter, interim WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs).

According to Warren, the New Zealander is set to return to the ring this autumn, and after that, he’ll be aiming for a shot at the winner of the upcoming rematch for the undisputed heavyweight championship between Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs).

I’ve spoken with Joseph and his team — he’ll be back in the ring in September. After that, we’ll wait and see how the Usyk–Dubois rematch plays out.

The WBO has already stated that the winner of that fight will be required to make a mandatory title defense.

Joseph is currently the interim champion, which puts him in a strong position — he’ll be in line to fight for the undisputed crown. If the winner vacates the belt, Joseph will be elevated to full world champion automatically,” Warren said.

Parker last fought in February, scoring a second-round TKO over Martin Bakole.

Originally, Parker was scheduled to face Daniel Dubois, but the Briton withdrew due to illness, leading to Bakole stepping in as a late replacement.
