James Toney: “Gervonta Is on Jake’s Strings Like a Puppet”

Former world champion James Toney believes Gervonta Davis will not be allowed to knock out Jake Paul in their upcoming exhibition bout on November 14 in Miami, USA.

When I saw that, I said: ‘Okay, I’ll change the channel.’ I’m not going to waste my time on that crap. Honestly, I don’t even want to talk about it. I have no words. I like Tank. He needs to get himself together and take care of real business.

I know for sure Davis is on a string — like a puppet. You know Jake Paul is going to make him do what he wants. If the fight goes the distance, he won’t get paid. If he knocks him out, he won’t get paid. And Tank would knock him out, because Jake Paul can’t fight. Doesn’t matter how big he is. I’m tired of talking about this crap,” Toney said.

Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) and Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) will meet in a 10-round exhibition fight. Both will wear 12-ounce gloves, and the bout will be scored by three judges, though the result will not count toward their official records.
