Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn has shared his thoughts on the possible heavyweight showdown between Moses Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) and Dillian Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs).
“The purse is certainly a good one. He (Dillian Whyte) is clearly in the final stages of his career, and I’m not saying he took the fight just for the money. Dillian’s a real fighter. I’m sure he believes he can win. It’s another big night in Riyadh.
He’s still active. Dillian is a solid heavyweight. Very durable. I think he chose the fight with Moses over one with Anthony Joshua, and good luck to him. But this isn’t an easy fight. Given Dillian’s current form and style – this is a real nightmare for him,” said Hearn.
Earlier reports confirmed that Itauma and Whyte are finalizing a deal. The bout between the two Britons is expected to headline the August 16 boxing event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
