Hearn Contacted Chukhadzhian’s Manager – Updates on Negotiations

Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn provided an update on the ongoing negotiations for the fight between his fighter, IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs), and Ukraine's Ready to Fight ambassador Karen Chukhadzhian (24-2, 13 KOs), the mandatory challenger for Ennis’ title.

"I spoke with Karen Chukhadzhian’s manager last night. We want to keep the title. 'Boots' [Ennis] has some contractual terms to consider. I think if we pay Karen what he needs, the show won’t be viable.

This isn’t a fight that fans are eager to see. Ennis has already beaten Chukhadzhian. Karen was very negative in that fight, but we want to maintain our standing," Hearn said.

Karen and Jaron first met in 2023, with Ennis winning by decision. Since that loss, the Ukrainian fighter has won two bouts by stoppage and another by decision.
