WBC Super Welterweight Champion Sebastian Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) and former unified champion Keith Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) have agreed to a fight, BoxingScene reports.
According to the source, the bout will take place on October 18 in Las Vegas, USA.
In March 2024, the 27-year-old Fundora stepped in for the injured 36-year-old Thurman in a bout against Tim Tszyu and captured the WBC and WBO titles, defeating the Australian by split decision. Thurman had withdrawn from the fight with Tszyu due to a biceps injury sustained in training.
On July 19, Fundora defeated Tszyu for the second time — the Australian’s corner stopped the fight after the seventh round.
In March, Keith Thurman returned after a three-year layoff to face Brock Jarvis, winning by third-round technical knockout.
