Clarke: “I’m Going to Put My Name Forward to Get Experience with Usyk”

British heavyweight Frazer Clarke (9-1-1, 7 KOs) has expressed interest in becoming a sparring partner for Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs), the reigning WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion.

I don’t want to wait that long [until September] to get back in the ring. But if that’s how it plays out—so be it. In the meantime, I plan to get in some good sparring. Maybe in the States.

I’m also going to put my name forward to get some experience with Usyk. There’s talk that we might skip the British title route and go a different way,” Clarke told BoxingScene.

On April 20, Clarke bounced back from his loss to Fabio Wardley by stopping Ebenezer Tetteh via first-round TKO.

Usyk is scheduled to face Daniel Dubois in a rematch on July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London, UK, with the undisputed heavyweight championship on the line.
