Warren: “We Had a Candidate for Chisora, But He’s No Longer Available”

Queensberry Promotions founder and head Frank Warren has admitted that his fighter, British Heavyweight veteran Derek Chisora, still does not have an opponent for his upcoming bout in December.

“I don’t know yet. That’s still a question to be resolved. We’re far from an official announcement. We have great events ahead, but for now, I can’t provide any information.

We had a candidate, but he’s no longer available, so now we have to look for another,” Warren told talkSPORT.

The promoter also ruled out former Heavyweight champions Deontay Wilder and Daniel Dubois as potential opponents for Chisora.

The 50th fight of Derek Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) is scheduled for December 13 at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, United Kingdom. In February, the 41-year-old Chisora defeated Otto Wallin by unanimous decision.
