Eddie Hearn Discusses Anthony Joshua’s Next Steps for the First Time Since Accident

Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua / Mathcroom Boxing

The head of Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, has spoken about the next steps for his client, former unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, following the car accident that occurred in Nigeria.

“I think at this stage, it’s right to refrain from any comments just out of respect for Joshua. That’s obvious, given what he’s been through, as well as the tragic loss of Sina and Latz.

Right now, he needs time and privacy, so there won’t be any statements from us regarding his career, next fights, or anything like that.

He has to recover both physically and emotionally. Currently, there’s nothing to discuss here. Let’s give him peace. Let’s pray for him and for the families who suffered as a result of this terrible incident,” Hearn said.

As a result of the accident, two of Anthony Joshua's coaches died at the scene. The boxer himself recently spoke publicly about the tragedy for the first time since that day.
