Don King Wins Purse Bid for Pulev vs. Hunter

Legendary 93-year-old promoter Don King has won the purse bid to stage a bout between WBA Regular heavyweight champion Kubrat Pulev (32–3, 14 KOs) and Michael Hunter (24–1–2, 17 KOs), according to Bad Left Hook.

King’s winning bid totaled $1.1 million USD. The fight is expected to take place on August 23. The exact location has yet to be finalized, but King mentioned Florida, Las Vegas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania as possible venues.

The 44-year-old Pulev claimed the WBA Regular title in December of last year with a unanimous decision victory over Mahmoud Charr.

In the same month, 36-year-old Hunter scored a fifth-round TKO over Cristian Larrondo Garcia.
