British heavyweight Delicious Orie (1-0, 0 KOs) has announced his retirement from professional boxing after just one fight.
“After much reflection, I’ve decided to hang up the gloves and end my boxing career to continue my studies and pursue a career in the corporate world.
This sport gave me so much — incredible memories, unforgettable travel around the world, and countless opportunities to represent my country on the biggest stages. I’ll always be grateful for the journey.
Over time, I realized the flame and love for boxing that once burned inside me has faded. I’ve matured and learned to value honesty and clarity with myself above all.
I had hoped turning professional would reignite that passion, but the truth became clear — it didn’t. Every fighter knows that to reach the top, you need deep love for the craft, and without it, there’s no way forward.
Out of respect for the sport and for myself, it’s time to walk away — honestly,” Orie wrote on Instagram.
The 27-year-old represented Team GB at the 2024 Olympic Games, where he lost in his opening bout. He later signed with Queensberry Promotions and made his pro debut on April 5, earning a decision win over Milos Veletovic.
