Benavidez Sr. Reveals Target Month for David’s Next Fight

Jose Benavidez Sr., father and trainer of WBC light heavyweight champion David Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs), has revealed when his son is expected to return to the ring.

“We’re looking at different options and trying to get back in the ring in October,” said Benavidez Sr.

In February, David Benavidez defeated David Morrell by unanimous decision to become the interim WBC champion. He was later elevated to full champion status after Dmitry Bivol declined to defend the title.
