WBC Light Heavyweight Champion David Benavidez has not ruled out continuing his climb through the weight divisions.
“I’ve got another 15 years left in my career. I fight twice a year — so why not keep doing it for another 15 years? If I take good care of my body, two fights a year are more than enough.
I want to stay at light heavyweight for about five more years. Then move up to cruiserweight for another five, and after that, maybe even make it to heavyweight.
You have enough time to recover, enough time for yourself, for your family, and enough time for intense training. That’s what I love to do,” Benavidez said.
Currently competing at light heavyweight — after moving up from super middleweight — Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs) has already become a champion in the division. His next fight will take place on November 22 in Riyadh against Anthony Yarde. Detailed fight statistics from RTFight are available via the link to their matchup below the article.
