Callum Smith, the British interim WBO Light Heavyweight champion, and Cuban contender David Morrell could meet in the first quarter of 2026, according to Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn.
“I’ve spoken with Turki Alalshikh about staging this fight as part of a show in Saudi Arabia in early 2026. We’ve nearly finalized everything, and I believe you’ll see it happen there. It’s an incredible fight, a brilliant matchup,” said Hearn.
Smith (31-2, 22 KOs), 35, last fought in February, defeating Joshua Buatsi by unanimous decision.
Morrell (12-1, 9 KOs), 27, was last in action in July, scoring a split decision win over Imam Khataev.
